Hove Park School Magnolia
This is one of The Tree Council’s 60 educational tree planting schemes with children that
were inspired by the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Each tree, provided by The Tree
Council, was chosen and planted by volunteers in the community.
Hove Park School is a large, successful, 11 to 18 secondary, based on two sites in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex. We value the environment and this motivated our gardening club to be part of the project and plant a Diamond Jubilee magnolia tree in the grounds of the Lower School site.
The students in the gardening club have worked hard to make sure that the magnolia continues to thrive through the occasionally erratic weather on the south coast. We are certain that it will grow into a beautiful tree and provide a shady place for students and staff to sit under on sunny days in the grounds of the school’s Valley Campus.
