Tree planters win Lord-Lieutenant award
Congratulations to Leicestershire Tree Warden Francesca Wall-Bray (pictured, far right, at a regional forum in the county) and fellow tree planting/maintenance volunteers in her parish of Houghton-on-the-Hill. They have just won one of their county’s Diamond Jubilee Awards.
They were nominated for a Lord-Lieutenant's Diamond Jubilee Award for groups which have done something exceptional and positive to develop a community spirit and enrich people’s lives.
People volunteering their time and energies as a team to enhance their community were encouraged to apply.
The Houghton team was among 60 winners who received their awards at a celebration event on 19 July.
