BTW volunteers work closely with Bournville Village Trust (BVT) & are involved in a number of exciting projects, such as assisting with the sympathetic maintenance of Stocks Wood (SINC), Selly Wood Pool & Cobs Wood.
We developed the Bournville Tree Trail Guide, copies of which are available free from the Secretary or by visiting the Tree Wardens section of the Bournville Village Trust website - https://www.bvt.org.uk/communities-and-estate-management/bournville-tree-wardens/. The trail starts at Selly Manor, moves onto the Village Green and finishes in Bournville Park. The Guide identifies around 40 different species of tree along the route.
In 2006 a number of our wardens assisted the children of three local schools to plant new trees, the funding for which was provided by grants from the Tree Council & BVT.
Our volunteers also give talks & guided tours to schools & community groups.
