The scheme has been running since 2007 in South Oxfordshire and has over 40 active wardens.
The council is working with Tree Wardens in Henley, Thame, Warborough, Cholsey, Watlington and Whitchurch on the Landmark Tree Survey, an inventory of significant local trees not already afforded some protection by conservation areas or tree preservation orders.
The Tree Wardens have been involved in a number of training sessions including 'Winter twig I.D' and 'How to recognise a Landmark Tree'.
