Established in 1990 the South Hams Tree Warden Network was one of the first groups to get started. Several of the 67 current Tree Wardens were there at the start, bringing with them a wealth of knowledge, experience and enthusiasm which they are all happy to share with more recent volunteers.
Our Tree Wardens help the Tree Office, providing valuable feedback on requests to carry out work on trees in conservation areas; as part of development proposals or on trees covered by Tree Preservation Orders.
Training and events have included topics such as trees and the law, tree dating, trees and diseases and tree identification. As well as informal Parish gatherings and our Annual Gathering there is also the opportunity to attend the South West Regional Tree Warden Scheme Forum.
