The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority Tree Warden Network has been running since 2004 and was the second scheme to be launched in Wales. The network currently has around 30 'Tree Champions' including Tree Surgeons and Community Councillors, spread fairly evenly throughout the Park. Past training events have included tree planting, hedge tree tagging and seed collecting.
Ongoing projects include the Tree Wardens gathering information on Veteran and Elm trees in their local area. a training day looking at Amenity trees is planned this Spring with two further events in Summer and Winter within the Park.
To become a Tree Warden you do not need specific skills - just a love of trees!
If you would like to get involved please contact Mike Higgins or Celia Thomas.
