The Parish Tree Warden Scheme was begun by the Mid Suffolk District Council in 1989 -one of the first such schemes in the County.
We now have 99 Wardens covering 96 of our 122 parishes. Our Tree Wardens play an increasingly important role as a contact between parish and District Council on matters relating to trees. Over the years they have instrumental in collecting data for the Veteran Tree Survey and the Hedgerow Survey.
They are also an invaluable link in identifying and planting many hedgerows with trees provides through Mid Suffolk's Tree Planting Grant Scheme.
