The Bournemouth Tree Wardens Network has been running for five years and is made up of a group of enthusiastic volunteers with a passion for trees.
The Tree Wardens have been involved in various projects so far, including tree surveys, locating ancient trees, planting trees and hedges, producing a tree trail leaflet, and leading guided walks about trees.
We are very fortunate in Bournemouth to have a wide variety of both native tree species in parks and countryside sites, and trees from around the world in locations such as Bournemouth Gardens. The Gardens have redwoods, ironwoods, pines, firs, oaks and many more, and a number of these trees now have identification labels on them. This great variety of species means that being a Tree Warden in the Borough is very rewarding.
