The Big Tree Plant launched on 2nd December 2010 and with it, the £4 million tree planting grant fund. The material that The Tree Council’s member organisations developed at the member forums in July and October 2010 was submitted and has made a difference to the way the campaign has been handled, the findings from these forums can be downloaded below.
But there are still teething difficulties and it will continue to develop right the way through the period of activity. It’s time, then, for the membership to get some feedback on how it’s going and what progress has been made on resolving the problems that were identified.
The Tree Council therefore held a Members Forum on 20th July to hear from Defra, the Forestry Commission and Groundwork and were also asked to offer a platform on the day to the Minister for Forestry, Jim Paice.
