Wirral Environment Network is a local charity which aims to advance the education of the public about the preservation of our world's natural environment, ecological sustainability, natural resource conservation, waste minimisation, recycling and the principles of fair trade, within Wirral and the surrounding area.

It is also a focal point for sustainability issues locally and is the administrative centre for projects including Wirral Fairtrade Campaign, Gardens In Schools, Energy Detectives, and the Plants On Plates Community Garden.

It was formed in 1985 (as Wirral Green Alliance) as an umbrella organisation representing the non party political aspirations of the Green movement in Wirral and the surrounding area.

It is now the largest voluntary environmental group in Wirral, with a membership that includes individuals, campaigning groups, community groups and Green businesses, all working individually and together for a better world.
