Native Woods Cooperative (Scotland) Ltd is Scotland's own woodland conservation charity dedicated to the restoration and expansion of our native woods. In prehistoric times up to 80% of our land area was woodlands but now barely 3% of this, our richest terrestrial habitat, remains.

Beautiful, natural woods will continue to die unless we work together to bring these remaining woods back into responsible management and to increase the area of native woodland in Scotland.

Well-managed woods are food and shelter for many wild creatures and provide people with wonderful places to walk, watch wildlife, breath clean air, harvest timber, gather nuts, berries and fungi.

Woodlands provide carbon-neutral fuel for renewable energy systems.

Native Woods Cooperative (Scotland) Ltd aims to secure a future for Scotland's native woodlands, and to create vibrant and sustainable links between woods, wildlife and people. It:

*

promotes native woodland conservation

*

provides management advice and support to woodland landholders

*

increases awareness of the values of native woodlands

*

strengthens the contribution of native woodlands to the Scottish economy

*

advises and influences policy and decision makers

*

works with landowners, communities and volunteers

Native Woods Cooperative (Scotland) Ltd needs your help to protect the future of our most precious environment.
