The International Tree Foundation (ITF) is a UK charity that promotes an appreciation of trees, both in the UK and overseas. It recognises that trees play a vital role in the health, wellbeing and economies of communities around the world, and supports a range of projects that work to plant, care for and protect trees.

In the UK, the ITF works with schools, corporations and individuals to promote the importance of planting new trees, and of protecting established ones. It runs schemes to help people plant trees to commemorate a special occasion and campaign to save woodlands and individual trees under threat.

Internationally, the Foundation works with non-governmental organisations in developing countries, to support sustainable projects run by and for local communities. These projects involve promoting awareness of arboriculture and the need to maintain biodiversity, protecting existing trees, and planting trees that provide food and income for local people.

Trees are vital to life on our planet. As the longest-established tree charity in the UK, the ITF draws on 80 years' experience in the field to provide a wealth of knowledge that has never been more valuable than ever in the current period of environmental change.
