Learn how it has been managed in very different ways over the last 700 years, the woodland crafts that were practised there and how the present woodland can yield important clues about its history.
Meet at the Forestry Commission car park on Woodhead Road. Be prepared for the walk to take longer than the 2 hours, as Professor Mel Jones is fascinating to listen to, and it may run over. Wheelchair users please contact organiser in advance. People with limited mobility please contact organiser in advance. Dogs on lead are welcome.
